KLÖCKNER & CO ACQUIRES SPANISH FIRMS

Today, Klöckner & Co has entered into an agreement for the acquisition of Aesga Catalunya S.A. (Aesga Catalunya) and affiliated Aesgasa Aceros Especiales y Suministros en General, S.A. (Aesgasa). These acquisitions strengthen Klöckner & Co's activities on the Spanish market. Aesga Catalunya and Aesgasa are distributors for special steel whose activities focus mainly on Catalonia, Madrid and Greater Valencia. The combined revenues of the acquired companies was around €18 million in 2005, with sales of about 20,000 metric tons.
