After graduating from Brown University with BA’s in Business Economics and Organizational Behavior and Management, John Ganem started working at LTV Steel in 1991, where he took over responsibility for direct automotive manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers as account manager.
In 1996 he joined Macsteel International USA where he held a leading management position as Vice-President being responsible for P&L and overall management of the North American Flat Rolled Trading Division until the end of 2002. Afterwards John Ganem became Vice President, USA Carbon Purchasing, with Samuel, Son & Company, where he was charged with developing USA based supply relationships.
In 2006 he returned to Macsteel Service Centers USA, which was acquired by Klöckner & Co in 2011. As Executive Vice-President for Kloeckner Metals Corporation John Ganem was accountable for all purchasing activities across the enterprise including long-term strategic planning, supplier relationships, supply chain strategy, inventory management, volume incentive agreements, global sourcing, price competitiveness, process control policies, and regulatory compliances. John Ganem was named CEO of Kloeckner Metals Corporation on January 1, 2018 and led a significant organizational transformation focused on improved operational efficiencies and effectiveness. Since 2015 he is an elected member to the Kloeckner Metals Corporation Board of Directors.
As of August 1, 2019, John Ganem has been appointed as Member of the Management Board and CEO Americas of Klöckner & Co SE.
